LIMANY. PART 3. SPA-PAVILION

LIMANY — is a natural recreation center with minimal interference with the environment on the Karelian Isthmus in Saint-Petersburg. The visual language of the residential sector is built on the basis of Karelian history and the mimicry of all recreational architecture under nature to reflect the unique context of the place. The recreation center provides a stylistically redesigned traditional home of the Finno-Ugric people.

Spa-Pavilions are parts of recreational properties of Karelian resort, Limany. The very spirit of terrain, calmlicity and locals culture so deeply coincide with aesthetic of japaneese soul calming practices. So it was reasonable to integrate some japanese motives into the resort spa-pavilions. For that I reimagined japanese torii via bearing pile structure of each building.

Spa-pavillions may include a tea room, Finnish sauna or massage room and Russian bath. On terrace both types own a hot tub, which volume is immersed into a pond, beyond which there is the Gulf of Finland in close proximity to be seen outwhere.
